SGLA is François Pretorius, an independent web developer based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, working with owner-led businesses across the UK.
Most independent businesses don't need an agency. They need someone who can design, build and launch a website properly, explain what they're doing in plain English, and then hand the whole thing over.
That's the gap SGLA fills. One developer who cares about the design as much as the code, who tests on a phone before calling something finished, and who would rather build you a site you own than rent you one.
Before SGLA I spent six years running a restaurant I founded and built up to a team of fifteen. So I know what it's like to be the person whose name is on the business, and to have a website that doesn't quite do it justice.
I went back to study after that, and graduated from the University of Suffolk in 2025 with a degree in computer science and cybersecurity. That's where the fussiness about performance, security and building things properly comes from.
One person, start to finish
You talk to the person doing the work. No account manager relaying messages, no handoffs between departments.
Built, not assembled
No page builders, no themes. The site is written for your business, which is why it loads quickly and looks like yours.
You own everything
Domain, hosting, code. Ownership is the default, not a premium option.
